Beavers will be visiting Oranmore Garda Station tomorrow (Feb 24).
Please drop off your Beaver at the station by 6:30PM SHARP and collect them at 7:30PM at the station.
We are also having an Investiture Ceremony for new Beavers so all Beavers should attend in full uniform.
Beaver Scouts will be taking a well deserved rest next week due to mid-term break.
We will be returning on Tuesday 24th Feb with a visit to Oranmore Garda Station. We will meet at 6:30PM outside the Garda Station in Oranmore and Beavers will be collected there at 7:30PM.
We’ve usually finished off our meetings on Tuesday nights with the Beaver prayer but we are going to include the promise, law & chant more in our meeting opening and closing ceremonies from now on.
Beavers will get to memorise these over time (most already know the prayer) but here they are for now as a reminder.
Beaver Prayer, Promise, Law & Chant
Beavers who were with the group last year achieved this badge and we hope that the new Beavers will also! In fact, we hope that those that already have achieved Stage 1 can help others do the same.
Here are the requirements for the Stage 1 badge

I can show pictures of and be able to talk about different types of flying machines.
I can build a paper airplane from an A4 sheet that will fly, climb and turn.

I know how to be safe around aircraft
I have visited an airport
We asked all of the Beavers to do a project on their experience so far in Scouts – what they liked etc.
Here’s a gallery of the fantastic results so far!
As we get ready for the first hike of the new Scouts year with the Beaver group, here’s some info on what Beavers need to bring with them on the day:
Packed lunch & drink
Newspaper in a plastic bag to use as a seat
Wet gear – top & bottoms
Strong (ideally waterproof) shoes/boots
Change of clothes
Change of footwear
We’ll be doing a quick bag check on Tuesday (Sep 30) night in advance so please bring the packed bag that night.
